Start from the Heart. Giving your loved one a store-bought card is not the sincerest way to say I love you. Start the evening off right by giving a card made from your heart. All you need is a little bit of construction paper and scissors. Cut a heart out of a folded piece of construction paper, add a romantic message and seal it with a kiss. Giving your loved one a personalized card with a sincere message will warm their heart and is the perfect start to a romantic evening at home.

Spice It Up. There is a reason we say “spice up the night”. Spices such as chili peppers boost the level of endorphins and serotonin that dulls pain and give us a feeling of well being. Candle Care

Ever wonder how to get the full use out of a candle and keep it clean all at the same time?? I have everything you need to know!!

1. First thing you should ALWAYS do before burning your candle is TRIM the wick to 1/4".  This allows the flame to be smaller and keep soot from turning the candle jar black. You can use our handy Wick Trimmer ($14.48) that gives you the perfect 1/4" wick and catches the trimmings. (Seen in middle photo)

2. Only burn your candles for 4 hours at a time.  By that time the room will be fully scented.  If you wish to continue to burn the candle, put it out and trim the wicks then relight the candle.

3. Use a Wick Dipper to extinguish the flame.  To do this, dip the wick into the melted wax.  This puts out the flame without any smoke.  It also coats the wick with a layer of wax to keep it ready for the next burn.  Extinguishing the flame with the Wick Dipper ($3.48) prevents residual smoke which will also keep your jar clean. 4. If for any reason wax is spilled onto any surface, we also sell a product that removes candle wax.  This Candle Wax Remover is only $8.48 and works on virtually any surface. (Seen on far left photo)

Scent Blend of the Month

Creating Memories through Fragrance

 

Scent Blending Recipes are carefully selected recipes of individual candles that when burning together, create their own unique, blended scent experience. This month, A Quaint Café.

  

To maximize your fragrance experience, use the exact sizes and quantities noted in each recipe – a slight alteration can be like adding salt when you needed sugar.

 

Step 1: Place each candle approximately two inches apart with the largest in the middle and smaller candles interspersed throughout. For votive and tealight candles, use a holder to protect the surface.

 

Step 2: Light each candle and let the aromas mingle for at least 30 minutes to create your new fragrance experience.

Scents and Memories

I don't know about you, but for me scent is the STRONGEST memory.  I can always catch a whiff of something that will take me back in time...either to my great-grandpa's house, my elementary school, or being with certain people in my family. It seems that attached to just about every scent is a memory; some good and some bad, but a memory all the same.  

As I open and smell the new scents Gold Canyon offers in the spring, I am suddenly swirling around in memories of holidays and playing at Grandma's house with my cousins. I step back and realize it is the smell of Sugar Cookies that takes me back to my Grandma's kitchen filled with fresh baked cookies spread all over the counter. And then there is the smell of Leather that takes me back to memories of my Grandpa or my Dad getting new cowboy boots or the day I got a new softball glove. It is these kinds of memories that I cherish the most.

My New Candle Adventure

Hi, my name is Ashley and I have recently become an Independent Fragrance Consultant for Gold Canyon Candles. I absolutely love my new job! I couldn't be happier with the products that I sell and the response that I have received from customers. These candles are made to last and are created with YOU in mind.  Not only do we provide candles, but we provide fragrances in other forms such as wickless candles, auto fresheners, natural home cleaning products, body care, and candle care in the form of trimmers and wick dippers.

This has been a whole new experience for me as I went to school with hopes of becoming a teacher.  After graduating and spending more time in classrooms I decided it wasn't for me; at least not right now.  So what was I going to do with my life? I had no idea.  Then I talked to friends and family that have used Gold Canyon products and they just raved about them.  When I looked them up and read about the consultant program I knew right off the bat that this was the perfect job for me! I love candles and I love hosting parties.
